Due to training diversity of prospective candidates and great transversality of this knowledge area, the past experience in courses of similar profile, revealed to be necessary to guarantee a basic training in the Mechanical Engineering area and simultaneously a specific training, depending on candidates profile and project subjects

This way, the Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Programme has two compo-nents:

  • an academic one, named “Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Course”, integrating Sciences and Complementary Technologies Curricular Units (horizontal training CUnits), Mechanical Engineering Curricular Units (advanced training CUnits) and a Curricular Unit of Dissertation Planning of the specialty scientific area, with a total of 60 ECTS;

  • and another one for a R&D project improvement, contributing to a “thesis” elaboration in the area of Mechanical Engineering, with a total of 180 ECTS.
